"M" called at 9AM to make sure I was up to date on status. He described the problem with the wiring harness' missing wire, and that they are in the process of putting my original good wiring harness back in. He said it should be done today--but not for sure--and that he would call me later.

"M" called back at 2PM to say that the car won't be done today, and that it will be done Monday. I could not suppress a long groan when he said this. He apologized and said that it is just a lot of disassembly and reassembly work to get the wiring harness strung throughout the car. He said that he suspects that the problem with the wiring harness was that even though my car is a '98 model year, the wiring harness sent with the engine was probably for a '97, and that there is a new fuel system wire needed for '98s. He said he would call me Monday with status. I thanked him for calling me, hung up the phone, and muttered "f***!" to no one in particular.
