I would advise against the following procedure:
- Buy nice big 15-quart oil container with wide drip catch basin.
- Raise car, roll underneath on creeper, loosen drain plug.
- Remove drain plug.
- Notice that oil level in drip catch basin is rising. Oil not draining into little container inlet hole fast enough.
- Look puzzled for a few seconds.
- Realize that it's going to overflow in a minute.
- Try to replace drain plug while oil is draining out.
- HOT OIL ON HAND!
- Notice oil level in drip catch basin is almost to top.
- Keep trying to replace hopelessly slippery drain plug.
- BURNING HOT OIL ON HAND!
- Watch drain plug slip out of hand and into catch basin.
- Look like a deer in the headlights.
- Watch oil start to overflow onto garage floor.
- Utter one curse word.
- Grab some paper towels, then realize that is waste of time.
- Drive wife's car to Kragen to buy some oil absorber.
- Finish oil change.
- Clean up garage floor.
